Visit to Beaconhouse Islamabad

PFL staff visited The Beaconhouse School System, Islamabad on 20th February 2008. The purpose of this activity was to address various issues; namely the UCAS application, UK education, life in UK and the various problems and costs that one may encounter. Students were also guided on the visa requirements. Other prospective students were informed on their desired courses according to their academic profile.

 

UCAS seminar and BALR Event

As part of Beaconhouse School System's Career Advisory programme, Beaconhouse arranged a presentation session for its students to have the best and accurate information regarding further/higher studies. PFL staff delivered a presentation to the senior branch of A-levels on 13th February 2008 followed by participation at BALR Education Fair on 22nd February 2008.

 

Apart from PFL, there were some local institutions i.e. NUST, USEF, Fatima Jinnah women University etc. who were guiding students about their programmes.

 

FAST Islamabad, H-10 campus – Information Desk

On 20th March 2008, an information desk was setup at NU-FATS which stayed for more than four hours. Many students visited the desk with lot of queries, mostly related to credit transfers which were answered accordingly. Student were given information about different courses in the UK universities. A few brilliant students were also briefed about the research opportunities in the UK univeristies and scholarships.

 

Information Desk at IIUI (Annual Cultural Week)

During the cultural week at International Islamic Universiy, Islamabad (18th – 20th March), information desk was arranged by PFL Islamabad on 19th march 2008 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students from different departments i.e. FMS (Faculty of Management Sciences) and FAS (Faculty of Applied Sciences) & Faculty of Law & Faculty of Computer sciences visited PFL stand in large numbers. Promotional material was also distributed along with the visiting cards.

 

Students were very keen to get the information about different courses, entry requirements of the UK universities. Apart from students, some faculty members were also interested in doing PhD from UK Universities. All of them were briefed accordingly. Students also inquired about visa requiremnets and their visa issues. Afterwards PFL staff was invited to participate in IIUI’s Cultural Night.
