Our Commitment

What service does PFL offer to a student?

We provide overseas students seeking further and higher education opportunities in the UK with details of suitable courses available at a wide range of quality universities and colleges in the UK. Our service is independent and its primary objective is to match the individual priorities of each student with the particular needs and requirements of the education institution.

How is this achieved?

We have established a network of Overseas Student Counsellors to provide an initial point of contact and help for you at local level. We currently have counselling services operating in Kenya, Nigeria and Pakistan.

If you wish to use our service, you will need to arrange a meeting with your local Student Counsellor. You should bring the following to this meeting:

  • Education certificates, including any English language test results
  • Details of two referees, one of which must be from an academic background; and,
  • If you are seeking a postgraduate course, a CV containing details of all responsibilities held

It is also helpful if you can attend this meeting with your sponsor.

The Student Counsellor will ask you to complete an Education Application Form. The Education Application asks for information in respect of your current qualifications, previous work experience, the results of any English test, state of health and personal motivation. We will forward the information on the Education Application to appropriate universities or colleges to consider making an offer to you. We maintain regular contact with those responsible for overseas admissions at our client universities and colleges to ensure that up to date information is available about their requirements.

Most undergraduate applications to UK universities are administered through an organisation called UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
You can apply using their online application page.

The Student Counsellor will complete a Student Criteria Form which provides us with information about your personal circumstances and individual requirements. This helps us to advise you about the most suitable course or courses for your particular needs.

Overseas Tours

Each year PFL, accompanied by university/college representatives, visits each of the main countries we operate in to make special local presentations informing potential students of the opportunities for study in the UK and the benefits of using our service. Those who attend our presentations will have the opportunity to make an appointment to discuss their specific requirements with PFL advisors or the appropriate university/college representative.

This service is considered highly valuable by the students and sponsors who attend, and is complementary to the ongoing service offered by our highly trained local PFL student counsellors. If you are interested in attending one of our presentations please ask your PFL student counsellor when we shall be visiting next.
